Grace Lutheran Church is located at 1124 North Third Street in Phoenix, Arizona. We are in downtown Phoenix near the Roosevelt Arts District, ASU Downtown Campus, Arizona Center and the Phoenix Convention Center.
Our office is open from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, Monday through Thursday. We are closed on Friday.
Pastor Sarah Stadler
Pastor Sarah has been serving God and God’s people at Grace since November 2010. Prior to serving at Grace, she served as associate pastor at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Denver, Iowa for 4 years. A graduate of Luther College in Decorah, Iowa and the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago, she also completed a year of Lutheran Volunteer Corps in Chicago where she worked at a shelter called Interfaith House. Originally from northern Minnesota, Pastor Sarah is excited to follow the call of the Spirit wherever it leads her and the congregation! Email Pastor Sarah
Administrative Assistant Adrienne kaye
Adrienne Kaye has served as Administrative Assistant at Grace since May 2017. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, live music and spending time with family. Adrienne is involved with various non-profit organizations to serve the community. Email Adrienne
Caretaker Lester Andrews
Lester has been serving Grace Lutheran Church as the caretaker since January 2014. Originally from Texas, he earned a B.A. degree in criminal justice from West Texas A&M University in 1986. Lester has over 20 years of professional experience working in criminal justice and case management. He has worked in the areas of criminal supervision, child abuse and neglect, domestic violence, and public assistance to name just a few. organist and choir director Simon Pick
A native of the rural Midwest, Simon Pick grew up in Remsen, a small town in the northwest corner of Iowa where he began his studies in organ at the age of fourteen with Sr. Arnold Staudt, OSF. He later graduated from Benedictine College in Atchison, KS in 2015 with majors in Music and Theology, and was awarded the Sr. Joachim Holthaus outstanding musician award. During his undergraduate career he studied organ with Dr. Ruth Kruesmark and Mr. Matthew Geerlings and conducting with Mr. Theodore Hanman and Dr. Sean Teets. Simon graduated with a master’s degree in Sacred Music at the University of Notre Dame where he was a student of organ under Dr. Craig Cramer and Dr. Douglas Reed and studied conducting with Dr. Nancy Menk. He is currently a student of Dr. Kimberly Marshall.
Pick has been active as a recitalist throughout the Midwest and Southwest and has performed with collegiate and graduate performance ensembles as both accompanist and soloist in addition to serving for three years as the artistic director and continuo player for Benedictine Baroque, an ensemble he co-founded in 2012. He currently performs with the Phoenix Symphony Chorus and the Phoenix-based chamber ensemble Canticum Novum.
Pick has held various church positions serving as organist and choir director at Saint Mary’s Church in Remsen, Iowa, organist and choral accompanist at First Presbyterian Church in Atchison, Kansas, and as an organ scholar at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart on the campus of the University of Notre Dame in Indiana. He currently serves as Music Associate and Organist at Central United Methodist Church in Phoenix, Arizona, and associate organist and organ instructor at Saint Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Gilbert AZ.
Praise Band Leader Chad Cole
Chad Cole has been with Grace since June 2014, leading the contemporary praise band. Chad is a Phoenix native, graduating from Arizona School for the Arts just down the street from Grace. Chad started at ASU in classical bass performance, but is now pursuing a degree in jazz performance. Playing the bass has given Chad the opportunity to play across the U.S. and parts of Europe. He is enjoying his time here at Grace and is learning much from the people here. All are welcome to join the Grace Praise Band! Email Chad
Social Worker Jeff Jirak
Jeff is our Sunday morning social worker and has served Grace since 2002. He works with us on Sundays with the rest of his week devoted to his full-time job as a therapist with Healthcare for the Homeless. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor in the state of Arizona. He is of Slavic descent, and his last name is pronounced "You Rock." Email Jeff
Bookkeeper Chris Morris
Chris Morris is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Fraud Examiner. He has an MBA from Grand Canyon University and a Bachelors in Biblical Studies from Arizona Christian University. As the Founder & Managing Partner of Chris Morris CPA LLC, Chris focuses his firm on providing accounting and tax services for non-profit entities, creative entrepreneurs, and small businesses.
The Congregational Council meets every month on the fourth Tuesday at 6:30 pm. All are welcome to attend.
