GLOW (Grace Lutheran on Wednesdays--during the academic year)
- 5:30 pm: Dinner
- 6:15 pm: Bible Study (most Wednesdays), Servant Projects (occasionally)
GLOW includes dinner and Bible study each Wednesday evening during the academic year.
Cursillo & Tirosh
Cursillo is a Spanish word meaning 'short course'. Cursillo de Cristiandad means 'short course of Christianity.’ When one speaks of Cursillo, it is usually describing a 3 day spiritual retreat which revives the spirit and rejuvenates the church. There are always weekends coming up!
Tirosh is a similar program for high school youth.
Grace has had many individuals and couples participate in Cursillo and Tirosh and is always encouraging more to participate in this mountaintop experience and ongoing spiritual formation. To learn more, please contact our Cursillo liaisons, Phyllis and Rick Schilling.
All those who consider themselves adults: you are welcomed and encouraged to attend Theology Pub each second Sunday of the month at 6:00 pm at Angel's Trumpet, 810 N. 2nd Street, just south of Roosevelt, near the church. Each month, an intriguing topic is raised with readings and questions to guide the conversation. Plus, we meet other young adults from around Phoenix and enjoy some good food and drink. Please join us!
- 2nd Saturday of Each Month @ 5:00 pm
God speaks through many types of media. Films can be both entertaining and spiritual nourishing, and Cinema Club tries to make a connection between contemporary media and our faith. Cinema Club also hopes to create community through conversation and meals.
Over the course of Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday, we study Scripture, sing, pray, and explore the year's theme. In 2017, our retreat is planned for October 6-8. To register, call the church office at 602-258-3787. The registration cost is $100; checks can be made out to Grace Lutheran Church. No refunds will be made.
We will gather at Emmanuel Pines Retreat Center in Prescott.
Knit Wits Prayer Shawl Ministry
The Knit Wits prepare prayer shawls for members and friends of Grace who are in the hospital, homebound, or going through any sort of crisis. These shawls are tangible reminders of God's love. If you would like to knit or crochet the shawls--or even if you would like to learn how to do so-- please come to a Knit Wit meeting on the second Tuesday of each month at 10:00 am in the North Room. If you cannot make the meeting but would like to participate, please talk with Carol Staffieri.
