Grace Cinema Club
(A Christ Care Ministry)
UPDATES!
The cinema club will be meeting at the Ehlen's home on August
15. September will be at the Spitler's home.
On November 8, the Grace Cinema Club will be meeting at the Schillings new home. To secure a place at the table and find out what to bring for the meal, contact Rick or Phyllis Schilling through the church office. We will be viewing The Great Debaters starring Denzel Washington. This inspiring film is based on a true story and illustrates the courage and determination of the leaders of the Civil Rights movement.
The Grace Cinema Club was formed in June 2006 and has been meeting regularly since then. The meetings are held monthly in members homes and the format is always the same. After sharing a delicious potluck meal, everyone watches a movie together. A lively discussion of the film from a Christian perspective follows. Good food, good films good fun for all who attend. Some of the movies we have watched together are: A Day Without A Mexican, An Inconvenient Truth, To Kill A Mockingbird, The Narnia Chronicles, Freedom Writers, The Nativity and August Rush. The evening closes with prayer and a song.
The average attendance for the Grace Cinema
Club has climbed to around 20, with singles and couples represented
equally. At the present time, we rotate between six homes and anyone
who wants to host is welcome to do so. Not everyone has the space
to accommodate such a large group, howeve,r and there is no pressure
to host. The purpose of this group is to share the good news of Gods
love for each and everyone one of us! All are welcome to come. For
more information about the Grace Cinema Club, contact Margie Betz
