Junior High/High School Youth

Youth Summer Planning Party

Sunday, June 26, 11:30 am—2:30 pm at the home of Solveig Muus

All youth of Grace (going into 7th grade & up), come and swim, eat, study the Bible, and plan our summer service projects and fellowship events!  We had previously talked about possibly finishing the murals in the church basement, painting the basketball backboard, and even organizing a purely fun event for this summer.  Come and share what you would like to do!  Bring a towel, swimsuit, and sunscreen for swimming.

Tirosh

Tirosh is a 3 day spiritual retreat for high school youth ages 15-17 which revives the spirit and rejuvenates the church.  Led by both adults and other youth, Tirosh is a time of listening, prayer, singing, eating, and fun.  The next Tirosh weekend is January 13-15, 2012.

Grace has had several youth participate in Tirosh and is always encouraging more to participate in this mountaintop experience and ongoing spiritual formation.  To learn more, please contact our Cursillo liaisons, Phyllis and Rick Schilling, or Pastor Sarah.

Safeguarding God’s Children

Our children and youth are precious gifts of God, and we want to make Grace a safe place for our children and youth to grow in faith. Unfortunately, we live in a time when we must ensure the safety of our children and youth through the use of impersonal and comprehensive procedure—such as outlined in our policy Safeguarding God’s Children. Our goal is to prevent any type of abuse or harassment of minors while participating in Grace programming. Anyone who regularly volunteers with our children and youth is required to either go through a background check or provide results of a background check or fingerprint card completed within the last 5 years.

All volunteers of Grace, whether directly ministering with minors or not, are expected to maintain the highest standards of conduct. Possession of weapons, physically or psychologically abusive behavior, consumption of alcohol on church property, visible intoxication, and other types of disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.
