Sunday Service - Second Sunday of Easter April 27, 2025

Scripture Reading

Luke 24:13-35

This Sunday, we'll hear about two disciples on their way to Emmaus. Troubled by the crucifixion of Jesus and the confusing news of his empty tomb, they were joined by Jesus, who they did not recognize. He engaged them, detailing the Scriptures about the Messiah's suffering and resurrection. When they arrived in Emmaus and shared a meal where Jesus broke the bread, their eyes were opened, and they saw him; then he disappeared. Empowered by a renewed faith, they returned to Jerusalem to share their life-changing experience, underscoring the enlightening influence of Scripture and the deep connection found in sharing meals together.
