Grace Lutheran Church is located at 1124 North Third Street in Phoenix, Arizona. We are in downtown Phoenix near the Roosevelt Arts District, ASU Downtown Campus, Arizona Center and the Phoenix Convention Center.
Our office is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. We are closed on Thursday.
Pastor Sarah Stadler
Pastor Sarah has been serving God and God’s people at Grace since November 2010. Prior to serving at Grace, she served as associate pastor at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Denver, Iowa for 4 years. A graduate of Luther College in Decorah, Iowa and the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago, she also completed a year of Lutheran Volunteer Corps in Chicago where she worked at a shelter called Interfaith House. Originally from northern Minnesota, Pastor Sarah is excited to follow the call of the Spirit wherever it leads her and the congregation! Email Pastor Sarah
Administrative Assistant Adrienne kaye
Adrienne Kaye has served as Administrative Assistant at Grace since May 2017. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, live music and spending time with family. Adrienne is involved with various non-profit organizations to serve the community. Email Adrienne
Caretaker Lester Andrews
Lester has been serving Grace Lutheran Church as the caretaker since January 2014. Originally from Texas, he earned a B.A. degree in criminal justice from West Texas A&M University in 1986. Lester has over 20 years of professional experience working in criminal justice and case management. He has worked in the areas of criminal supervision, child abuse and neglect, domestic violence, and public assistance to name just a few. Praise Band Leader Chad Cole
Chad Cole has been with Grace since June 2014, leading the contemporary praise band. Chad is a Phoenix native, graduating from Arizona School for the Arts just down the street from Grace. Chad started at ASU in classical bass performance, but is now pursuing a degree in jazz performance. Playing the bass has given Chad the opportunity to play across the U.S. and parts of Europe. He is enjoying his time here at Grace and is learning much from the people here. All are welcome to join the Grace Praise Band! Email Chad
Organist and director Brandon Burns
Brandon Burns is currently pursuing the Doctor of Musical Arts degree with Kimberly Marshall at Arizona State University. Previously, he earned the Master of Sacred Music degree at the University of Notre Dame, where he studied organ with Craig Cramer, and the Bachelor of Arts in Sacred Music at Lenoir-Rhyne University, where he studied organ with Florence Jowers and conducting with Paul Weber. Brandon has spent the last two years as the Interim Organist and Director of Youth and Children’s Bells at Pinnacle Presbyterian Church in Scottsdale. While at Notre Dame, he was an organist at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart on campus in addition to working with the various choral ensembles at the basilica. While at Lenoir-Rhyne, a small ELCA college in his native North Carolina, he was the music director at St. Paul Lutheran Church where he directed the adult and children’s choirs and the handbell ensemble in addition to serving as organist. Brandon has also trained in organ building with both the Noack Organ Company of Georgetown, MA, and Taylor and Boody Organbuilders of Staunton, VA. Recently, Brandon performed on the Piccolo Spoleto L’Organo Series in Charleston, SC, and accompanied the Phoenix Symphony Chorus on their performance of Duruflé’s Requiem.
Social Worker Jeff Jirak
Jeff is our Sunday morning social worker and has served Grace since 2002. He works with us on Sundays with the rest of his week devoted to his full-time job as a case manager for a health care provider. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Independent Substance Abuse Counselor in the state of Arizona. He is of Slavic descent, and his last name is pronounced "You Rock." Email Jeff
The Congregation Council meets every month on the fourth Tuesday at 6:30 pm. All are welcome to attend.
